GenDx has a new brand to reflect growth, innovation, and a unified vision to become a leading global Specialty Diagnostics company. GenDx will undertake a brand update to align with the evolving structure of the Eurobio Scientific Group.

This new brand embodies the collective strengths of all their affiliates, combining expertise and resources to create synergies to enhance the product offerings. Furthermore, their collaboration will allow them to drive innovation through sharing knowledge, ensuring that they deliver innovative products and services that are at the forefront of the diagnostics field. And while their brand is evolving, the commitment to do so remains as top priority.

Why is the brand changing?

GenDx is transitioning to a new brand identity that reflects the integration of all affiliates within the Eurobio Scientific Group. This means their visual identity will be updated to ensure consistency and foster harmony among the group’s companies.

What is changing?

The company will have a new brand that reflects consistency across the Eurobio group companies, this means an update to the logo, icon, typography, form elements and color scheme.

Sustainable rebranding

The rebranding process will unfold over the coming months, focusing on minimizing waste. By reusing materials such as product boxes, brochures, and exhibition booths, we aim to ensure an environmentally friendly transition. As a result, you may still see the old branding during the transition period.

Thoughts from leadership

“What I like a lot about the branding is that it unifies the group, but it also gives every company their unique color.’’ Hanneke Merkens, Eurobio Chief Marketing Officer says. “So the Eurobio as a group is blue and GenDx remains purple. DID is red, TECOmedical and BMD have their own shade of blue. That’s what I like a lot, because it gives every individual affiliate their own identity and still keeps as a part of the group. We share the same font, the same logo, and we also share the same icon. And especially the icon is a nice visual, created to make sure that everyone recognizes us as Eurobio Group while we keep our own identity.’’

Utrecht Science Park Summer Café: Farewell to Managing Director Jan Henk van der Velden

On Monday, 6 July, the Utrecht Science Park Summer Café took place at Grand Café Living on Utrecht Science Park. This edition was dedicated to the farewell of Jan Henk van der Velden, Managing Director of the Utrecht Science Park Foundation, after nine years in which he played a key role in the development and positioning of the ecosystem.

UMC Utrecht is to get a new main entrance and a green campus park

The north side of UMC Utrecht is set to undergo a major redevelopment in the coming years. Utrecht City Council and the teaching hospital have presented plans for a new main entrance, a central car park and a green reception area designed to improve connections between the hospitals at Utrecht Science Park. The plans have now been submitted to the city council.

Petra Baarendse appointed new Managing Director of Stichting Utrecht Science Park as of 1 September

Utrecht, 2 July 2026 – As of 1 September 2026, Petra Baarendse will take office as the new Managing Director of Stichting Utrecht Science Park. She succeeds Jan Henk van der Velden, who has stepped down and will take on a new role as Managing Director of Stichting Nationaal Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug.

Opening Utrecht Science Week with keynote by Juliette Legler on the hidden influence of environmental chemicals

On Friday, September 25, the annual science festival ‘Utrecht Science Week’ kicks off once again at Utrecht Science Park. We are pleased to announce that this year, Prof. Dr. Ir. Juliette Legler will deliver the Utrecht Science Lecture. Juliette Legler is Professor of Toxicology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University and leads the ‘One Health Toxicology’ group at the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS).
