Utrecht Science Park at Innovation for Health 2026
We are proud to have Innovation for Health 2026 in Jaarbeurs Utrecht and host the Global Investor Forum at the Utrecht Science Park.
Utrecht Science Park will, like this year, be present at Innovation for Health in 2026, together with several partners from the Utrecht region: CPBT, Biotech Booster, Oncode Accelerator, RegMed XB, Utrecht Heart of Health, ROM Utrecht Region.
Utrecht Science Park is a fertile breeding ground for innovations in life sciences and healthcare, with leading scientific institutes, the largest concentration in the Netherlands of hospitals – including UMC Utrecht and the Princess Máxima Center – and numerous pioneering life sciences companies such as Genmab, Merus, Danone and research institutes, like Hubrecht Institute. With both large and small organizations all within walking distance, Utrecht Science Park fosters a collaborative and thriving ecosystem. We are excited to contribute to shaping the future of healthcare through our unique and strong network.
It is the combination of the facilities of both Jaarbeurs and Utrecht Science Park,“ says managing director Jan Henk van der Velden of the Utrecht Science Park Foundation, ‘combined with what we have to offer in terms of substance, from hospitals, research institutes to R&D companies.”
Global Investor Forum
With Innovation for Health, the Global Investor Forum is also coming to Utrecht. The fact that it will take place at the Utrecht Science Park is quite logical, says Hans Hofstraat of the Utrecht Science Park Foundation. “Utrecht Science Park is the location par excellence where innovation, new ideas and translation into practice come together. It is a breeding ground, an incubator, a location that is uniquely capable of giving a push to innovation and impact for the health of the Dutch and, in fact, the entire world.”
Joining forces
That this event will come to Utrecht from 2026 is the result of joining forces between several regional parties, including Koninklijke Jaarbeurs, Utrecht Science Park, the ROM Utrecht Region, the municipality of Utrecht and Dutch Health HUB and National Growth Fund Programmes based in Utrecht. The Utrecht region, also known as the Heart of Health, has a large concentration of knowledge in the life sciences and health sector, with various knowledge institutions, hospitals, research institutes and innovative R&D companies and startups.

Record number of children from across the province of Utrecht meet researchers
A morning spent interviewing, pipetting or philosophising with two researchers from Utrecht. That’s what 3,400 children from Utrecht did on the morning of Wednesday 1 April during the eleventh edition of Meet the Professor. 280 researchers from Utrecht cycled to primary schools in the city and surrounding area to show the children who they are, what they do and what sparks their curiosity. In pairs, because research is something you do together.

ALS gene discovery forms basis for treatment development
Researchers at UMC Utrecht’s ALS Center have found new genetic abnormalities that play a role in the development of ALS. As a result, the group of patients in whom the cause of the nerve and muscle disease can be pinpointed has grown from 20 to 25 percent. The finding also helps to better understand ALS and may eventually contribute to the development of targeted treatments for some of the patients.
