UtrechtInc – Ready to Start program
Do you want to understand what it takes to launch a science-based startup? UtrechtInc’s four-week Ideation Program, a simple free online evening course, could be your first step towards making a significant impact with your research.
Date: 9 November – 2 December 2026
During the program, you will explore questions such as:
- What defines a startup?
- Could my research have commercial potential?
- Is entrepreneurship the right path for me?
- Can entrepreneurship coexist with an academic career?
Each Monday, you will join an expert-led session from 20:00 to 21:00. An optional Q&A session is available on Wednesdays for those who want to explore the topics further.
Who can participate?
The program is designed for PhD candidates, postdocs and researchers at Utrecht’s knowledge institutes, including Utrecht University, UMC Utrecht, Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital, Prinses Máxima Centrum, Hubrecht Institute and HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
No business experience, business plan or startup idea is required — just curiosity about the entrepreneurial potential of your research.
Cost & availability
Participation is free of charge. The program is delivered entirely online and is designed to fit around your research commitments.
