Collaboration between Prinses Máxima Centrum and Pediatric Oncology Center in Moldova

The Princess Máxima Center and the PMSI Institute of Oncology in Chisinau, Moldova, have signed an agreement to collaborate on training and improving cancer care for children.
On Wednesday, August 7, a collaboration agreement (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed with the pediatric oncology center at the PMSI Institute of Oncology, Chisinau, Moldova. This took place during a two-day working visit by the director and the parent association from Chisinau to the Princess Máxima Center.
The director of the center signed the agreement together with Rob Pieters, CMO of the Princess Máxima Center. The collaboration with Máxima will consist of training and education of pediatric oncology professionals and improvements in the guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of children with cancer.
Support
Due to a close connection between PMSI in Moldova and the Marie Curie hospital and the Daruieste Viata association in Bucharest, Romania, support for the center in Chisinau will partly be provided via Bucharest. That is why the director of the Marie Curie hospital, with whom Máxima also has a collaboration agreement, was present at the working visit and the official signing of the MoU.
Máxima has several international collaborations with pediatric oncology departments of children’s hospitals in Europe, including Slovakia (Bratislava) and Ukraine (Lviv).
