Utrecht University ranked number 1 in the Netherlands in ShanghaiRanking

Utrecht University has been ranked the top university in the Netherlands and 55th worldwide in the 2024 ShanghaiRanking.
According to the ShanghaiRanking, published on 15 August 2024, Utrecht University is ranked the best university in the Netherlands.

On 15 August 2024, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) was released by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. Utrecht University (UU) is ranked first in the Netherlands and 55th out of 1,000 universities worldwide.
UU has held the top national position for several years. Other Dutch universities also feature in the ranking: the University of Groningen is ranked 69th, followed by Erasmus University Rotterdam, Leiden University, Radboud University Nijmegen, and others. See the full ranking below.

Since 2003, ARWU has annually presented the world’s top universities based on a transparent methodology and objective third-party data. This year, over 2,500 institutions were assessed, and the top 1,000 universities were published.
