Utrecht Science Week 2024: Keynote Lecture Jos Malda

During Jos Malda’s Keynote Lecture on October 3 at Utrecht Science Week, the role of team science in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, driving innovation, and supporting researchers’ professional development will be discussed.
How does team science contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration within scientific research? How does it influence innovation and creativity in research projects? And how can team science support the professional development of researchers?
On Thursday, October 3, Jos Malda will give the Keynote Lecture during Utrecht Science Week. In this lecture, Jos Malda will share successful practical examples and discuss his team’s experiences from various levels. Afterwards, he will engage in a conversation with panel guests to discuss different perspectives, followed by time for participants to interact with each other.
Jos Malda is Professor of Biofabrication in Translational Regenerative Medicine at the Regenerative Medicine Center Utrecht (RMCU), a collaboration between UMC Utrecht and Utrecht University. Together with his team, he focuses on developing innovative 3D bioprinting technologies for creating tissues and organs.
Regenerative Medicine Center Utrecht
Regenerative medicine focuses on harnessing the body’s own capacities to repair tissue and provide new therapeutic benefits for both human and animal patients.
RMCU is located at Utrecht Science Park and brings together the largest group of researchers in the Netherlands to tackle global healthcare challenges. The center offers a variety of advanced technologies, including biofabrication, gene editing, proteomics, and imaging.

UtrechtInc has been recognized in the Financial Times “Europe’s Leading Startup Hubs 2026” ranking.
While UtrechtInc is proud of this recognition, the real stars of the story are the entrepreneurs, researchers, and students who walk through its doors every day.
