Extra tram services to Utrecht Science Park on weekends and during the Utrecht Marathon

Earlier, the province of Utrecht announced that from 2025, tram services will be increased on weekends. This long-awaited improvement has now become a reality. Additionally, trams will run during the Utrecht Marathon on Sunday, 18th May.
HiPRO Utrecht Marathon supported by Utrecht Science Park
On Sunday, 18th May 2025, the 41st edition of the Utrecht Marathon will take place, traditionally starting and finishing at the Utrecht Science Park. The marathon continues to grow, and given the large number of participants expected to travel to the Utrecht Science Park, the extra tram services on this day will be a very welcome addition.
The event is steadily growing, and with the anticipated high number of participants coming to the Utrecht Science Park, it is a significant improvement that trams will be operating on this day. On 18th May, it is recommended to travel to the Utrecht Science Park by bike or public transport due to limited parking options and to avoid congestion on the roads.

UMC Utrecht takes third surgical robot into use
UMC Utrecht has commissioned a third surgical robot. With the arrival of the latest generation, the Da Vinci 5, even more patients can be operated on with minimal stress. This leads to fewer complications and faster recovery. “Apart from the benefits for patients, the Da Vinci 5 also allows us to train even better,” says Jelle Ruurda, gastrointestinal surgeon and professor of robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery. “At the touch of a button, colleagues can watch remotely, and even learn from previous operations. This way we share knowledge faster and more widely.” The hospital is thus building on a tradition of 25 years at the forefront of robotic surgery.
