Scientific open house for over a week!

Scientific achievements through successful collaborations in the spotlight
Utrecht Science Park is flourishing. Due to the scientific achievements and the successful collaborations between knowledge and healthcare institutions and specialized companies. And due to the arrival of new parties. Established names and start-ups are equally matched in their great ambitions and love for innovation. At Utrecht Science Park, everyone works together on a healthy and sustainable society.
Utrecht Science Week was created in 2021 to make the value and progress of all this work even more visible to a broad audience of stakeholders and interested parties in the coming years.

A varied programme
Every year, together with all partners, we organize a very varied programme with lectures, debates, tours, and creative competitions for coming up with solutions for major societal challenges in the field of sustainability and healthy living. Established events such as the ‘Betweter Festival‘, ‘Weekend van de Wetenschap‘ and ‘Dag van de Duurzaamheid‘ are part of the versatile programme. All of this takes place at various locations on Utrecht Science Park, and sometimes also in the city centre of Utrecht.

Diverse target groups
Utrecht Science Week focuses on a wide range of target groups:
- Researchers and students – The week is an excellent opportunity for students and researchers to deepen their knowledge, gain new insights and connect with colleagues from various disciplines. Specific program components are designed to support and inspire the academic community.
- Professionals and policymakers – For professionals in the scientific, technological and healthcare sectors, Utrecht Science Week offers a platform for networking, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Families and young people – The Weekend of Science, part of Utrecht Science Week, is specifically aimed at families with children between the ages of 8 and 14. With hands-on activities such as experiments, workshops and guided tours, young minds are stimulated to develop an interest in science and technology.
- General public – For the general public, Utrecht Science Week offers an accessible way to get acquainted with current scientific themes such as sustainability, health and innovation. At events such as the Betweter Festival (which combines art and science) and the Hospital of the Future (which provides an insight into the healthcare and medicine of the future), complex topics are presented in an understandable and attractive way.
