The programme for Utrecht Science Week 2025 has been announced. From now on, you can register for one or more of the many inspiring events. More events will follow in the coming weeks. Take a look, register for the events you would like to attend and don’t miss anything!
Preparations for Utrecht Science Week are in full swing. From Friday 26 September to Sunday 5 October, Utrecht Science Park will be one big open house. In collaboration with various partners at Utrecht Science Park, a rich and varied programme has been put together, with appealing lectures, interactive workshops, tours and interviews, all about science at Utrecht Science Park. A unique place where education, research and entrepreneurship come together to work towards a healthy, sustainable society. Visitors can register free of charge. Almost all events are now announced and the programme with timetable is live.
We will kick off Utrecht Science Week on Friday 26 September with the Utrecht Science Lecture by Prof. Dr. Jan van de Winkel, founder & CEO of Genmab. In his lecture, entitled “Cracking the Code on Cancer and Other Serious Diseases: The Past, Present, and Future of Immunotherapy”, he will explore how immunotherapy is revolutionising medicine.
After the weekend, we are looking forward to, among other things, Sustainability Day, organised by HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht and Utrecht University. On Wednesday, you can get inspired and also think about AI in healthcare at UMC Utrecht. On Thursday evening, there is the Utrecht Science Week Pub Quiz for students, of course focused on science, Utrecht Science Park and the city of Utrecht. In between, there are also guided tours at NPEC, an open house at Utrechtinc., an expedition to Amelisweerd and many other lectures and conferences. The final of the Sustainable City Challenge traditionally takes place on Friday in the Accelerator and we close the Utrecht Science Week on Sunday 5 October with a great event for the younger visitors, because that is the Weekend van de Wetenschap. During this national science weekend, visitors can get acquainted with the world of research, technology and innovation in an accessible and interactive way. From doing experiments in a real laboratory to building robots yourself or discovering how pediatricians and researchers work together on groundbreaking treatments. This year, visitors will get a unique look behind the scenes at, among others, HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, Utrecht University, Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital (WKZ) and Princess Máxima Center.
But there is much more to experience during Utrecht Science Week, so check out the full program here and register.
