New Campaign by Princess Máxima Center During ‘Childhood Cancer Awareness Month’

The Princess Máxima Center launches a new campaign during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to highlight how children, families, and healthcare teams work together to help children truly get better.
September is dedicated to childhood cancer. Worldwide, this month is used to raise extra awareness for children with cancer – and it is urgently needed. In the Netherlands, around 600 children receive this diagnosis each year.
At the Princess Máxima Center, getting better means more than just being cured.
The center strives to provide children with cancer the best possible treatment while ensuring that, despite their illness, they can live as normally as possible and continue to develop. The child and their family are always at the center of care. The Máxima Center also continuously innovates in research, healthcare, and collaboration – every single day.
The children themselves also work on getting better, not only from being ill, but also in dancing, drawing, laughing, and playing. Their resilience is highlighted throughout September: drawings by the children are shared, full of hope, strength, and imagination. Drawing helps them process their emotions and make sense of their experiences, providing a unique insight into their world.
In this way, the Princess Máxima Center raises awareness for childhood cancer and everything needed to truly help children get better.
