31 May running festival at Utrecht Science Park; read all about accessibility

On Sunday 31 May 2026, Utrecht will once again be fully dedicated to the HiPRO Utrecht Marathon supported by Utrecht Science Park. With more than 18,500 participants in the previous edition, the event has grown into a staple for runners from Utrecht and far beyond. This year also promises to be a special edition, featuring the new addition of the Dutch National Championships Half Marathon (NK Halve Marathon). Utrecht Science Park will once again be the vibrant heart of the event, where sport, energy, and connection come together.
On the day of the HiPRO Utrecht Marathon, Utrecht Science Park will be closed to regular car traffic for participants and spectators. To ensure the area remains accessible in a safe and efficient way, organizer Golazo has created a clear parking and mobility plan with several travel options available (bike, tram, bus, or car). We strongly encourage participants and visitors to travel by public transport or bicycle whenever possible.
Coming by bike?
Perfect! You’ll arrive at the start already warmed up. Utrecht Science Park offers a large number of FREE bicycle parking facilities. Click here for an overview of the recommended cycling routes.
Coming by public transport?
Travelling by bus or tram? Get off at Heidelberglaan stop. On Sunday 31 May, a special tram service will operate from Utrecht Central Station starting at 07:00 AM specifically for the event. The tram will run eight times per hour between Utrecht Central Station and Utrecht Science Park in both directions.
Up-to-date information about routes and timetables can be found on the accessibility page of the HiPRO Utrecht Marathon.
