Artificial intelligence is a powerful engine for innovation and societal progress, but real value goes beyond technology alone. How can people and organizations remain adaptive and resilient in an AI-driven world? What should you delegate to AI—and what should you keep under human control?

Answers to these and many other questions can be found at the Utrecht AI Event 2026 on Tuesday, 24 March 2026 at TivoliVredenburg. This is the place where policy, practice, education, and research come together to share insights on reliable and human-centered AI solutions. Sustainable progress requires collaboration across different expertise and organizations.

Program

The day begins with a plenary session led by Carien Duisterwinkel, manager of AI Labs at Universiteit Utrecht. Keynotes include Stefan Leijnen, lector AI at Hogeschool Utrecht, on the strength of the Netherlands and the Utrecht region, and Professor Floortje Scheepers from UMC Utrecht on the impact of technology on society and well-being.

Subsessions

The program is organized into three thematic tracks, allowing you to create your own route:

  • Track 1 – People & Organizations in Transition
