Bioblitz 2025
From 22 May to 21 June, we invite all UU and HU students and staff to go out and explore and help monitor nature in the Utrecht Science Park (USP) during the Bioblitz 2025. Head out with your smartphone and help map the biodiversity in the USP, or join a nature excursion.
From moth walks to bird excursions
The Bioblitz 2025 is a great opportunity to explore nature at Utrecht Science Park together with nature experts, often colleagues. From plants and soil creatures to birds and moths - each excursion lets you look at the Science Park in a different way.ogels en nachtvlinders – elke excursie laat je op een andere manier naar het Science Park kijken.

Lunch walks: discover nature, support research
Join us for lunch walks outside with PhD student Petros Constantinides. Petros monitors local flora and fauna to assess the impact of the university's biodiversity measures. Bring your smartphone and help spot and record as many plant and animal species as possible with the ObsIdentify app. It is helpful if you download the app in advance. You can do so by following these instructions.
27 May, 3 June, 10 June, 12 June and 17 June from 12.15 - 13.00. Click on the links for more information and the starting locations (on Intranet).
Prefer to go by yourself?
You can also collect data for this research individually. Follow these instructions. If you like, you can join the Signal group, where people share their observations. Scan the QR code to join.
Your contribution helps
Whether you join an excursion, a lunch walk or go out on your own - your contribution helps to better understand and protect biodiversity at Utrecht Science Park. Will you join us?
