A look in the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital

The new TV series ‘Het Kinderziekenhuis’ has been broadcast since Tuesday 4 June, showcasing brave young patients, their loving families and the dedicated care teams. The RTL 4 series offers a wonderful opportunity to introduce the Dutch public to all the great work that healthcare professionals at the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital (WKZ) do in the fields of care, education and research.

The series also shows the enthusiasm of the healthcare team, where the focus is on giving patients the best possible treatment and guidance. And where getting better and looking to the future is the number one priority 24 hours a day.

Main characters' stories

‘Over ons kinderziekenhuis’ includes the stories of young patients and healthcare professionals featured in the TV series. For example, the story of four-year-old Owen, whom we meet in the third episode. Doctors at the WKZ operate on him for epilepsy: a condition in which sudden, often violent seizures disrupt daily functioning.

Since Tuesday 4 June weekly at 8.30pm

The WKZ wants to make the most of this visibility. Together with Werken Bij and Vrienden UMC Utrecht & Wilhelmina Kinderziekenhuis, they are committed to recruiting staff and raising funds.

The six episodes of ‘’Het Kinderziekenhuis‘’ have been shown weekly at 20:30 on RTL 4 since Tuesday 4 June 2024.
