BRU region

Bestuur Regio Utrecht (administrative region Utrecht) is a joint venture between nine municipalities in the Province of Utrecht. The municipalities are inextricably linked to one another. Each municipality is unique but together form a single region: one job market, one housing market. They are also literally linked to one another with a closely-knit transport network and green areas.

The cooperation now has a permanent administrative body known as the Bestuur Regio Utrecht - with a legal basis as the government recognises the importance of a strong bond in urban areas and offers direct support.

Bestuur Regio Utrecht develops and defines policies for the region. It then offers assistance in their implementation and monitors the practical results.
